Meet our Chair, a member of the association since 2011, a Rutland County Councillor with special responsibility for Highways, Transport, Culture and Leisure.
I am delighted to have been elected with Nick Woodley for Oakham South. As a Rutland resident since 2012, I previously served for 32 years in the Army as a Soldier and Officer, 2 years of which were spent at North Luffenham, Commanding a Military Working Dog Squadron.
I was delighted to be elected with Ian Razzell representing Oakham South. I was born at RAF Wittering and spent much of my childhood in Cottesmore. I moved back to Rutland in 2014.
I have served you on Rutland County Council for the past 8 years. I promised then that I would listen to you and be your voice at the Council. I have done this by addressing the concerns that you have raised with me at “open surgeries” following my many newsletters.
Edward has been a County Councillor since 1996. He became Leader in 1998, and held that position for 4 years until 2002. He took on the role of Chairman in 2008, and held office until 2011.
I have lived in Rutland since 1965 and farmed with my wife Jane and daughter Emma. I am a practical, no nonsense countryman and have represented Rutland at a national level at the British Wool Marketing Board, NFU and Countryside Alliance.
I am delighted to serve Barrowden, Ketton, Tinwell and Tixover with Gordon Brown. I am a local resident who has lived in Barrowden for over 30 years, so I understand the issues and challenges that we all face.
