I am a decorated former member of the RAF and have lived in Oakham for over 20 years. Since retiring from my last position, as a Data Governance Manager for a global leader in engineering and industrial software, I have been an active volunteer across Leicestershire and Rutland with the Youth Offending Service, Citizens Advice and the Police and Crime Commissioners office.
Rutland has a quality of life that is the envy of most, it has low crime, great schools, good public services, and a strong local economy. However, there is a real need to invest more time and resource in community-based family support and by working together, we can improve the life chances of every child or young person and their family living here in Oakham North West.
I believe that when you elect a local Councillor, they should be there to put residents first and to always be on hand to listen to their concerns and issues. That’s why I would hold regular surgeries and be available to respond to you and I will champion your voice at the County Council.
As someone who lives in Oakham, I am aware of the issues that are most important to us here. I have the experience needed to work with all of our voluntary and community groups, as well as our children’s and young people’s services, to make sure that we are delivering the very best for all Oakham residents.
I will make sure that local residents are at the heart of everything I do.
