I have lived in Melton since 1980, having completed an overseas tour with the RAF. We raised a family here who now live in the borough and like us love the place. My working life I was in finance and administration, and now in my spare time I am a fundraiser for various events and a volunteer at a local dog rehoming centre. I enjoy tennis and walking. I became a Councillor for Newport Ward in 2015 and have a very "can do attitude" to issues and problem solving, and showed this in my first 4 years as a councillor, achieving protection for our country park and campaigning for the relief road/bypass. I care about the future of our town and borough. It’s a busy life but very rewarding when you make a difference as the voice of local constituents.
