Meet Jacob Wilkinson. I’ve been a member of the Conservative Party for 15 years and I’ve been an additional member of the association’s management committee since 2018. I am also a councillor on Melton Borough Council, representing the Melton Sysonby ward. I’ve always had a keen interest in politics, as well as my local community. As someone who is in their 30s, I feel that I bring a very different perspective to politics, community action and the association.
Why I’m a Conservative…
I am a passionate conservative; I believe that the state does not always know best. We should be a party that advocates the free-market, low taxes, supports families and allows people to get on with their lives.
I am a conservative for the values that I have held for all of my adult life; family, responsibility and opportunity.
Life…
I live just outside Melton Mowbray with my wife Esther and our poodle cross Alfie, who we rescued from the local Dogs Trust. I work as an account manager for a creative agency based in Leicester, managing marketing campaigns for national and regional companies. Outside of work I enjoy long dog walks, the next hit series on Netflix, gardening and cooking.
Guilty pleasure…
Watching the latest episode of Queer Eye on Netflix – Jonathan Van Ness is one of the leading cultural icons of his generation.
