Deputy Chairman Political
  • Association Officers

Giles is our Deputy Chairman Political, with a long record of involvement in the Conservative Party. Giles stood as a candidate for Rutland County Council in the Whissendine Ward in 2019, coming second by 16 votes and achieving a 33% increase in the Conservative vote.

A former re-founding Chairman of Nottingham University Conservative Association, after a History degree Giles switched to law and was called to the Bar from the Middle Temple in 2006 before working at Westminster for two Conservative MPs and a member of the House of Lords. A career in public affairs followed working on behalf of a range of UK associations in the retail, food, farming and cultural sectors.

“Rutland and Melton is the epitome of England – a place of warmth, generosity, kindness and quiet pride and patriotism. Every day I wake up and am grateful for what previous generations have handed down. It is our role as custodians of the present to ensure future generations are similarly as fortunate.”

When not working or involved on Constituency business Giles enjoys history, the beautiful local environment, and running, cycling and walking.
